Manage Server-Wide Carry Rules as an Admin

Setting the Global Gamerule

Server administrators can enforce carry permissions across the entire world using a dedicated gamerule. This overrides individual player choices when configured.

Forcing Carry On for Everyone

To require all players to allow being carried, use the gamerule command to set carry permissions to forced-enabled. When active, no player can disable their carry status—they remain pickupable at all times.

Disabling Carry for Everyone

To prevent all players from being carried, configure the gamerule to force-disabled. Players cannot toggle their permission on; carrying is completely blocked server-wide.

Restoring Player Choice

To return control to individual players, set the gamerule to allow personal choice. Players can then use their toggle key or command to manage their own carry permissions independently.

Checking Current Settings

Use the gamerule query command to see what carry rule is currently active on your server. This helps you verify settings after changes.
