Create a Discord Command That Affects Your Minecraft World
Understanding Discord Command Listeners
Discarpet allows you to listen for Discord messages and commands. Set up a Scarpet script that watches for messages in a specific Discord channel or that match a command prefix (like !).
Writing the Command Handler
When a Discord user sends a command, your Scarpet script receives the message content. Parse the command name and arguments, then execute corresponding Minecraft actions—like teleporting a player, changing the weather, or triggering events.
For example, a !weather command could call Minecraft weather functions, or a !status command could query player data and send results back to Discord.
Sending Feedback to Discord
After executing the command, use the Discord message function to send a confirmation or result back to the Discord channel. This closes the loop: user sends command → Minecraft responds → Discord receives feedback.
Always validate input to prevent abuse. Check that the Discord user has appropriate permissions before allowing sensitive commands like world modifications.
