How to Disable Anvil Interaction for Players With Carpet AMS Addition

The problem anvils cause

Anvils are a common source of lag and griefing on technical servers. Players can spam them, use them to duplicate items via exploits, or leave them lying around. Carpet AMS Addition lets you turn off player interaction with anvils entirely.

Turning anvil interaction off

1. Get operator status or console access.

2. Run /anvilInteractionDisabled true to prevent players from using anvils.

3. Run /anvilInteractionDisabled false to allow anvil use again.

4. Watch the chat output to confirm which state is now active.

What this actually blocks

  • Players will not be able to open the anvil GUI, so they cannot rename items, combine enchantments, or repair gear through an anvil.
  • Existing anvils in the world are not removed — they simply become non-interactive for players.
  • This does not affect other crafting stations like the grindstone or smithing table, so plan accordingly if you want to restrict those too.

Practical advice

Announce the change to your players before enabling it, since it will surprise anyone mid-repair. If you only want to stop anvil-based exploits, consider pairing this with other protections rather than relying on it alone. Remember to flip it back off if you later need anvils for an event or build.
