Monitor Memory Leak Growth Over Time
Tracking Leak Trends
CalmThe Leaks doesn't just detect leaks—it watches how they grow. A leak that doubles in size every hour is far more urgent than one that grows by 1% per day.
Steps:
1. Run /ctl leaks periodically (every 30 minutes to 1 hour during gameplay)
2. Note the memory size and timestamp for each tracked leak
3. CTL displays trend data showing whether each leak is growing, stable, or shrinking
4. Rapidly growing leaks (marked with upward indicators) need immediate attention
5. Slowly growing leaks can be monitored and fixed in the next update cycle
Taking Action Based on Trends
- Exponential growth: Restart the server soon; the mod causing this leak may become unplayable
- Linear growth: Schedule a mod update or replacement within a few days
- Plateau or shrinkage: The leak may have self-corrected; continue monitoring
CTL's trend analysis helps you prioritize: fix the fastest-growing leaks first. If you see a leak spike after installing a new mod, that's your culprit.
