Adjust Shader Settings for Your PC Performance
Access the Shader Menu
Press the key to open the shader options menu while in-game. This is typically a dedicated shader settings button in your mod menu or launcher settings.
Choose Your Profile
BVSF Shaders includes multiple preset profiles designed for different hardware:
- Potato/Low: Minimal visual effects, maximum performance. Use this on older or weaker machines.
- Medium: Balanced colored lighting and shadows with moderate performance impact.
- High: Full colored lighting, detailed shadows, and enhanced visuals. Requires a capable GPU.
Select the profile that matches your PC's capabilities. You can test each one and monitor your frame rate to find the best balance.
Fine-Tune Individual Settings
Once you've chosen a base profile, you can adjust individual options:
- Toggle colored lighting on or off
- Adjust shadow detail and distance
- Control lighting intensity
- Enable or disable specific visual effects
Make small changes and check your FPS in-game. If you drop below your target frame rate, lower the next setting. Save your custom profile once you're satisfied.
