Using Datapacks to Customize Buried Wrecks

Datapack Basics

The mod supports datapacks for advanced customization beyond basic configuration. Datapacks allow you to modify loot tables, structure files, and generation rules without editing the mod itself.

Creating a Datapack

Set up a datapack folder in your world's datapacks directory. Structure it with appropriate namespaces and files for the buried wrecks mod. Datapacks use JSON files to define behavior, so familiarity with JSON syntax is helpful.

Modifying Loot Tables

You can create custom loot tables to change what items appear in buried wreck chests. This lets you add mod items, remove vanilla loot, or adjust drop rates and quantities.

Applying Changes

Place your completed datapack in the world's datapacks folder, then reload the world or use /reload. Test in newly generated chunks to confirm your customizations work as intended. Datapacks take priority over default settings, so your changes will override the mod's defaults.
