Enable or Disable Specific Visual Effects

Open Shader Configuration

Pause your game and go to Options → Video Settings → Shaders. Click the settings icon next to Builder's QOL Shaders to open the effect control panel.

Toggle Individual Features

The mod typically includes toggles for:

  • Smooth Lighting — affects how light transitions between blocks
  • Subtle Shadows — controls depth perception without performance cost
  • Block Outline Enhancement — makes block edges more visible for precise placement
  • Water/Lava Reflections — optional visual polish

Each effect has an on/off toggle. Disable any feature that distracts you or impacts your frame rate.

Monitor Performance Impact

After toggling effects, check your FPS counter (F3 key). Builder's QOL is designed to stay lightweight, but disabling effects on very low-end hardware may provide marginal gains.

Apply and Test

Save your configuration and return to building. Test in different environments—underground, at height, near water—to ensure your chosen settings work well everywhere.

You can adjust these settings anytime without restarting your world.
