Understanding Sculk Block XP Drops

XP from Different Sculk Blocks

This mod specifically buffs sculk catalysts and sculk sensors to drop 20 XP each, reverting changes made in game version 1.19.1 pre-6. Other sculk blocks like sculk blocks, sculk veins, and sculk shriekers have their own XP values that remain unchanged by this mod.

Why the Buff Matters

The original nerf reduced catalyst drops from 20 to 5 XP, making them less rewarding to mine. This mod restores the higher value, making Deep Dark exploration more worthwhile for XP farming. Sculk sensors also receive the same buff.

Comparing to Other XP Sources

With 20 XP per catalyst, farming Deep Dark becomes competitive with other early-game XP methods. A single catalyst now equals mining several regular ores, making it an attractive alternative if you have access to the Deep Dark biome. The mod doesn't affect enchanting costs or other XP mechanics—only the raw drops from these two block types.
