Comparing Pre and Post-Mod XP Gains

The Original Nerf

Before this mod, sculk catalysts and sensors were reduced to 5 XP drops in version 1.19.1 pre-6. This made Deep Dark farming significantly less rewarding than other XP sources. Players had to mine four times as many blocks to achieve the same XP gains.

With the Mod Installed

This mod restores the 20 XP value for both catalysts and sensors, quadrupling the reward per block. A single catalyst now provides meaningful XP progress, making Deep Dark exploration a viable farming strategy.

Practical Impact

If you're leveling up for enchanting or repairing tools, farming sculk blocks with this mod is now efficient. Without the mod, you'd need to mine significantly more blocks to reach the same levels. The difference becomes noticeable when farming large quantities—a full inventory of catalysts yields substantially more XP with the buff active. This makes the mod particularly valuable for players who prefer underground exploration over traditional mob grinding or mining.
