Troubleshooting Common Visual Issues
Identifying Shader Problems
If your world looks wrong under BTB Back to Basics, the issue usually stems from incompatible settings or conflicting mods.
Flickering or Texture Glitches
Flickering blocks or strange texture behavior often means your graphics driver needs updating. Check your GPU manufacturer's website for the latest driver. If that doesn't help, try disabling Mipmapping in Video Settings or lowering your render distance.
Colors Look Wrong or Washed Out
The shader intentionally desaturates colors for the PS1 effect, but extreme washed-out appearance suggests a conflict. Disable any other visual mods or resource packs temporarily to test. Some packs override shader colors and create poor results together.
Performance Drops in Specific Areas
Certain biomes or heavily built areas may tank your frame rate. This usually means your render distance is too high for your system. Reduce it incrementally until performance stabilizes. Alternatively, disable shadow quality temporarily to identify if that's the culprit.
Blocks Appear Invisible or Transparent
This rare issue indicates a shader cache problem. Restart Minecraft completely and clear your shader cache if your launcher provides that option.
