Optimize Performance While Keeping Fantasy Colors
Reduce Shadow Quality
BSU's colorful lighting comes partly from its shadow rendering. If performance drops, lower Shadow Resolution or Shadow Distance in the shader settings. This reduces the area where detailed shadows are calculated, freeing up GPU resources while keeping the bright fantasy aesthetic.
Disable or Lower Ambient Occlusion
Ambient Occlusion adds depth to corners and crevices but costs performance. Find the AO or Ambient Occlusion slider and reduce it. The world will remain colorful but render faster.
Adjust Reflection and Water Quality
Water reflections are visually expensive. Lower Water Reflection Quality or disable reflections entirely if needed. Water will still display BSU's fantasy colors without the performance hit.
Monitor Frame Rate
Open your debug screen (F3) to watch FPS. Make one change at a time and test for 30 seconds to see its impact. A good balance keeps the magical look while maintaining playable frame rates on your hardware.
