Understanding Tool Durability Stages at a Glance
Visual Durability Indicators
The Broken Tools Resource Pack replaces numeric durability values with progressive visual damage on your tools. As you use any tool, its texture gradually changes to show wear—chipped edges, cracks, and discoloration appear step by step across multiple durability stages.
Recognizing Critical Durability Warnings
Pay attention to two key visual alerts:
- White flashing: Occurs when any tool drops below ten percent durability. This is your primary warning to repair or replace the tool soon.
- Red flashing: Exclusive to diamond and netherite tools at one percent durability. This indicates the tool will break on the next use.
Which Tools Are Affected
The pack modifies textures for pickaxes, axes, shovels, hoes, swords, shears, flint and steel, and fishing rods. All material tiers—wood, stone, iron, gold, diamond, and netherite—display progressive damage. Check your held item frequently during extended mining or combat sessions to avoid losing tools mid-task.
