Set Up Your First Ore Farm in a Botany Pot

Gather Your Materials

You need three things: a Botany Pot (empty), a mineral block matching the ore you want to grow, and a metal ingot of the same type.

For example, to grow iron ore, collect an iron block and an iron ingot.

1. Place your Botany Pot on a solid block

2. Right-click the pot to open its interface

3. Place the mineral block in the soil slot (usually the left or bottom slot)

4. Place the metal ingot in the seed slot (usually the right or top slot)

5. Close the interface

The pot will begin growing. A progress bar or visual indicator shows growth status. After exactly one minute, the ore will be ready to harvest.

Harvest Your Ore

Right-click the pot when growth completes. You'll receive the same drops you'd get from mining the real ore block—this includes multiple items for ores like coal or copper, depending on your game version.

You can replant immediately by adding another ingot and mineral block.
