Fix Discord Screen Share Choppiness
Resolve Screen Sharing Performance Issues
This mod fixes a known bug where Discord screen sharing appears choppy or stutters when streaming Minecraft.
Steps:
1. Install and enable the Borderless Windowed Vulkan mod
2. Press F11 to activate borderless fullscreen mode
3. Open Discord and start a voice call or stream
4. Share your screen as normal
5. Your Minecraft gameplay should now appear smooth to viewers instead of choppy
Why This Works
The borderless windowed implementation prevents certain rendering conflicts that cause Discord's screen capture to stutter. When running in traditional fullscreen, the game and Discord's capture layer can conflict, resulting in poor stream quality. Borderless mode eliminates this issue while maintaining full-screen visuals.
Testing Your Stream
Before streaming to an audience:
- Start a test call with a friend
- Share your screen and play for a few minutes
- Ask your friend if the video appears smooth
- Check your own stream preview in Discord settings
If you still experience stuttering, verify the mod is active (game should not minimize when you click Discord) and that you're using the latest version of both mods.
