How Bookshelf Extended Enchanting Reach Works

Extending the Enchanting Reach

In vanilla Minecraft, an enchanting table only draws power from bookshelves placed within a very tight range — essentially one block away. To reach the maximum enchanting capacity, you need fifteen bookshelves packed into that small space, which forces you to build a cramped, specific layout around the table.

This mod changes that restriction. It increases the distance at which bookshelves can sit from the enchanting table while still contributing to its enchantment power. As long as the bookshelves fall within the mod's extended reach, they count toward the maximum capacity just as they would in the vanilla arrangement.

The practical result is freedom in how you build. You can spread your bookshelves out, leave gaps, or decorate the area around the table without losing enchantment levels. The mod does not add new blocks or change how enchanting itself works — it simply relaxes the placement rule so your fifteen bookshelves can be further away and still deliver full power.
