Save Book Contents for Long-Term Storage

Saving Books Between Sessions

If you want to preserve a book's contents permanently without losing them, use the save feature.

Step 1: Hold Your Book

Equip the written book you want to save in your main hand.

Step 2: Save the Contents

Type /bookcopy save in chat. This stores the book's text and formatting in a persistent save file associated with the mod.

Step 3: Access Saved Books Later

Your saved book contents are now stored and can be retrieved even after closing and reopening Minecraft, or switching between multiple worlds.

Step 4: Retrieve a Saved Book

When you're ready to use a saved book, hold a blank book and quill, then use the appropriate command to load your saved contents.

Important Notes

  • Saved books are stored separately from your world files
  • This is useful for creating template books, guides, or important documents you want to keep across multiple playthroughs
  • You can maintain a library of saved books for different purposes
