Reducing Lag From Boats With the Performance Improvements in This Mod

Why Boats Can Cost Performance

In vanilla, boat code runs checks every tick, including the fall logic that causes the break bug. Boat Break Fix trims that unnecessary per-tick work, so boats — especially many of them at once — put less strain on your game. This matters on servers with boat-heavy farms, transport networks, or lots of players riding at once.

Getting the Benefit

1. Install the mod as normal and confirm it loads.

2. Use boats the way you always have; no configuration is required for the performance gain.

3. If you run a server, install it server-side so all boat ticking benefits, and clients benefit too when they have it.

Where You Will Notice It

  • Large numbers of stationary or moving boats in one area.
  • Boat-based item or mob transport systems.
  • Busy multiplayer worlds where many entities tick at once.

Tips

  • The improvement is a side effect of the fix, not a separate toggle — you get it automatically.
  • Combine it with general entity-management practices, like not leaving hundreds of unused boats scattered around, for the best results.
  • If performance does not improve, check for other mods or farms dominating your tick time; boats may not be your bottleneck.
