Optimize Performance on Lower-End Computers
Locate Performance Options
Open the shader settings and find the performance or quality tier section. BMS Shaders provides preset options designed to run smoothly on various hardware levels.
Reduce Shadow Quality
Lower shadow resolution and distance settings to decrease the computational load. Softer, less detailed shadows still look good while freeing up processing power. Disable shadow filtering if your frame rate remains low.
Disable or Reduce Advanced Effects
Turn off features like:
- Volumetric lighting (god rays)
- Complex water reflections
- High-resolution texture filtering
Monitor Frame Rate
Keep F3 debug screen visible while adjusting settings. Aim for a stable frame rate that feels smooth for your playstyle. Small reductions in visual quality often yield significant frame rate improvements.
Test Different Biomes
Performance varies by location—dense forests and water areas demand more resources. Adjust settings based on where you play most.
