Comparing Bubble Effects: Bedrock vs. Java

Visual Differences Before and After

Vanilla Java Edition bubbles rise slowly and persist longer, creating a denser particle effect underwater. Blocky Bubbles Mod removes this delay, making bubbles spawn and vanish almost instantly.

Why Bedrock Bubbles Feel Different

Bedrock Edition uses a faster particle lifecycle for bubbles. This creates:

  • Less visual noise in your field of view
  • Quicker feedback when you're producing bubbles (swimming, taking damage underwater)
  • A snappier, more responsive underwater aesthetic

Testing the Difference

Dive underwater and observe bubble generation around your character. With the mod enabled, you'll see bubbles appear and disappear in rapid succession rather than forming visible streams. The effect is most noticeable when swimming quickly or in enclosed underwater spaces.

If you prefer the vanilla Java look, simply disable or uninstall the mod—there are no config files to adjust, as this mod provides a single, fixed behavior change.
