Lock a Cannon in Place with Chains

Preventing Cannon Rotation

When you want a cannon to stay aimed at a fixed target, attach a chain to it. This locks the cannon's aim and prevents it from rotating. Right-click the cannon while holding a chain to attach it—the cannon will no longer turn.

When to Use Locking

Lock cannons that are part of permanent travel routes or automated systems. This ensures they always fire in the correct direction without accidental repositioning. Locked cannons are especially useful for redstone-triggered TNT or anvil launchers that need consistent aim.

Removing the Lock

To unlock a cannon, remove the chain by breaking it or using the appropriate tool. The cannon will then be free to rotate again. This gives you flexibility to adjust your setup as your builds evolve.
