Understanding Skybox Dimensions

The Black Mesa Skyboxes Resource Pack applies different skyboxes to different dimensions automatically. The Overworld displays the dramatic day and evening skies inspired by Black Mesa's surface environments, while the End dimension transforms into the alien aesthetic of Xen with its distinctive otherworldly hues.

Changing Your Active Skybox

To experience both skyboxes, you simply need to travel between dimensions using the appropriate portals:

1. For Overworld skies: Remain in your main world or use a Nether portal to return from the Nether

2. For End skies: Construct an End portal using Eyes of Ender, or use commands like /execute in the_end run tp @s ~ ~ ~ to teleport directly

3. Return to Overworld: Use your End portal or a return gateway to see the original Black Mesa skies again

Tips for Viewing

The skybox changes are most visible during clear weather. The Overworld skies shift between day and evening variants as time passes, so explore at different times for the complete atmospheric experience.
