How to Make Custom Music Play Only in Caves, at Night, or Underwater

The mod lets you target specific playback conditions instead of replacing the whole soundtrack. Each condition has its own folder, and the game picks tracks from the folder that matches your current situation.

Pick the right folder

Use cave for underground/roofed areas, night for nighttime surface music, and water for underwater or swimming contexts. Drop .ogg files named with the numbered pattern (cave1–cave10, night1–night10, water1–water10) into the matching folder in your resource pack namespace.

Understand how conditions combine

The mod evaluates your environment and pulls from the relevant folder. If you want a track to feel cave-specific, it must live in the cave folder — putting it in game makes it play in general gameplay instead.

Test each condition

If a condition never triggers, confirm the folder name is spelled exactly as the mod expects and that the files follow the numbered naming. Because these are additive, you can layer cave music on top of the existing soundtrack without losing vanilla tracks.
