Adapt to Glitched Block Textures and Visual Distortion

Understand Visual Changes

Beyond the Veil modifies standard block textures to create a darker, more unsettling appearance. Blocks display glitched, distorted, or anaglyph (red and cyan) visual effects. This is intentional and part of the mod's horror atmosphere—it's not a bug.

Adjust Your Gameplay

The visual distortion can make it harder to identify blocks and navigate terrain. Move slowly in unfamiliar areas and use torches to light your path clearly. Familiar blocks like dirt and stone may look different, so rely on their position and context rather than appearance alone.

Manage Visual Strain

The glitched textures and heavy visual noise can cause eye strain during long play sessions. Take breaks between gaming sessions. If the distortion becomes overwhelming, reduce your render distance or play during shorter periods.

Use Visuals as Warnings

Increased visual glitching and static-like effects often precede mob spawns or entity encounters. When the screen becomes noticeably more distorted, prepare for combat or move to safety immediately.
