Adjust Lighting Intensity and Brightness
Access Shader Settings
Open the Shader Options menu by pressing the designated key (usually found in Video Settings > Shaders). Look for Beyond Belief Shaders in your active shader list and select it to open its configuration panel.
Modify Brightness Controls
Locate the brightness slider in the shader options. Increase it to make dark areas more visible, or decrease it for a more dramatic, contrasty look. This is useful if caves feel too dark or if you want to simulate different times of day.
Adjust Shadow Intensity
Find the shadow strength or shadow distance setting. Higher values create more defined, darker shadows beneath blocks and terrain. Lower values produce softer, more subtle shadows. Experiment with this to match your preferred aesthetic—realistic shadows work best at medium-to-high settings.
Fine-Tune Contrast
If available, adjust the contrast slider to enhance the difference between lit and shadowed areas. This makes lighting changes more noticeable and can improve visual depth.
Apply and Test
Save your changes and load into a world. Visit different biomes and times of day to see how your adjustments affect the overall look. Return to settings if you need further refinement.
