Set up sleep percentage requirements for your server
Understanding sleep thresholds
BetterSleeping lets you control what fraction of your player base must sleep before time advances to day. This prevents one player from skipping the night for everyone.
Configuring the percentage
1. Open your server's configuration file for BetterSleeping (typically in the plugins folder)
2. Locate the setting for sleep percentage or player requirement threshold
3. Set the value to your desired percentage (for example, 50% means half your players must sleep)
4. Save the file and reload the plugin using the appropriate server command
Testing your settings
Have a small group of players join and test: only the configured percentage should need to sleep for night to end. If your server has 10 players online, and you set it to 50%, then 5 players sleeping should trigger day.
Adjusting for your community
Lower percentages (30-40%) work well for casual servers where players log in and out frequently. Higher percentages (70%+) suit tight-knit communities where coordinated sleep is feasible. You can adjust this value anytime without restarting—just reload the plugin.
