How to Disable Hurt Camera Bobbing Completely in BetterHurtCam

Using the In-Game Config Screen

BetterHurtCam is built around a simple idea: the vanilla hurt camera tilt is annoying, and you should be able to control it. If you want zero camera shake when you take damage, the fastest route is the integrated config screen.

1. Open the mod list or config menu from the main menu or pause screen (the exact entry point depends on your mod loader's config button).

2. Find BetterHurtCam in the list and open its settings.

3. Locate the intensity option for hurt camera bobbing.

4. Drag the slider all the way down to its minimum, or toggle the disable option if one is present.

5. Save and close. The change applies immediately — no restart needed.

Verifying It Worked

Jump into a world and let a mob hit you. Your screen should stay level instead of tilting. If it still tilts, another mod may be overriding camera behavior, or you edited a different profile than the one you launched with.

Why Players Do This

Disabling the effect entirely is popular for PvP, speedrunning, and any situation where a sudden camera jerk throws off your aim or movement. Once it's off, combat feels noticeably steadier.
