Use PBR Resource Packs for Realistic Block Details
What PBR Adds to Better Voxels
PBR (Physically Based Rendering) resource packs define how blocks respond to light—roughness, metallic properties, and surface bumps. Better Voxels reads these properties to render wet floors, shiny metals, and detailed surface textures realistically.
Applying PBR Packs
1. Install a PBR-compatible resource pack alongside Better Voxels Shaders.
2. Load your world and enable the resource pack in your resource pack settings.
3. The shader automatically applies PBR data; no additional configuration needed.
4. Metallic blocks (copper, iron, deepslate tiles) will appear shiny and reflective.
5. Wet blocks and water-adjacent surfaces will show realistic wetness and shine.
Seeing PBR Effects
Build with varied materials—mix metals, stone, wood, and glass to see different surface properties. Place light sources nearby to watch how shiny surfaces catch and reflect light differently than rough ones. Take screenshots in bright sunlight to see metallic surfaces gleam. Wet areas near water or rain will show enhanced reflectivity and depth.
