Enable Colored Lighting from Glowing Blocks
Understanding Colored Light Sources
Better Voxels casts light in the actual color of glowing blocks, not just white. Glowstone emits warm yellow, soul lanterns cast blue, and amethyst clusters glow purple. This colored light bounces onto nearby surfaces, creating atmospheric lighting.
Setting Up Your Scene
1. Place glowing blocks where you want colored light to originate—use a variety of sources like lanterns, shroomlights, and glow berries for different hues.
2. Ensure the shader settings have colored lighting enabled in your shader options menu.
3. Position reflective surfaces (water, glass, polished blocks) nearby to see the colored light bounce and reflect.
4. The effect is most visible in darker areas; build indoors or take screenshots at night for dramatic results.
Tips for Best Results
Mix multiple colored light sources in one space to create complex, layered lighting. Combine warm and cool tones for visual interest. Remember that colored light spreads gradually—place sources close enough that their colors overlap and blend on surfaces.
