Create Reflections on Water and Glass
Surfaces That Reflect
Better Voxels renders reflections on water, glass, and shiny metallic blocks like copper and deepslate tiles. Reflections show the sky, nearby blocks, and light sources, adding depth and realism.
Building for Reflective Scenes
1. Create a large water surface—a pool, lake, or flooded room works well.
2. Place interesting structures, lighting, or colored blocks nearby where they'll reflect in the water.
3. Position your camera low, looking across the water surface to see reflections clearly.
4. Use glass panes or glass blocks to create interior reflections; they work especially well in enclosed spaces.
5. Combine reflective surfaces with colored lighting for vibrant, bouncing reflections.
Maximizing Reflection Quality
Smooth water surfaces (still water, not flowing) produce the clearest reflections. Polished and smooth block variants reflect better than rough textures. Place light sources above reflective surfaces so their glow reflects downward. Build symmetrical structures near water to create mirror-like effects.
