Set Up the Overlays Resource Pack Correctly

Install Both Packs Together

The Better Vanilla Building Overlays Resource Pack only works when paired with the main Better Vanilla Building resource pack. Install both packs into your resource packs folder, then activate them in your world settings.

Load Order Matters

Make sure both packs are enabled in your resource pack list. The overlays pack should load alongside the main pack—they're designed to work as a matched pair. If you see missing textures or misaligned edges on terrain blocks, check that both packs are active.

Verify Your World

Once loaded, look at grass, dirt, and sand blocks in your world. You should see smooth, natural edges where different terrain types meet. If blocks appear flat or edges look harsh, reload your resource packs or restart your world. The overlays blend these common ground blocks together seamlessly, so the transition between grass and dirt (or dirt and stone) should look gradual rather than abrupt.

Troubleshooting

If overlays aren't showing, confirm you're using a compatible Minecraft version and that both resource packs are fully extracted, not compressed in their folders.
