How to Reset the Title Screen Text to Default

When You Need a Reset

If your custom text stops rendering, shows garbled characters, or you simply want the original rainbow Better Title Screen message back, the cleanest fix is to restore the default config. This also helps when a typo in a formatting code has shifted every letter's color.

Restoring the Default Line

Open .minecraft/config/bettertitlescreen.cfg. Find the S:Text line and replace everything after it with the default string, which begins with the section-sign color codes and spells out the mod's name in alternating colors. Keep the S:Text prefix and the angle brackets around the value. Save the file with UTF-8 encoding so the § characters survive.

The Delete-and-Regenerate Method

If you cannot remember the default string, close Minecraft, delete bettertitlescreen.cfg from the config folder, and relaunch. The mod recreates the file with its original defaults, including the default text and all information toggles set to their starting values. This wipes any customizations you made, so back up the file first if you only want to reset one setting. After relaunch, confirm the rainbow text is back in the lower-left corner.
