How to Stop Blazes from Spawning in a Nether Fortress
Find and Mark the Spawner
Blaze spawners in Nether fortresses are the classic use case for this mod. Locate the spawner block, then clear enough space around it to reach all four sides. In a fortress, the spawner often sits on a platform with open air or nether brick around it, so you usually have room to work.
Surround It with Torches
Place torches on the blocks directly adjacent to the spawner on all four horizontal sides, then add the final torch needed to complete the surround — for example on top of the spawner or on a fifth adjacent block. Because the Nether has no water and fire spread is a concern, use torches rather than trying to flood or block the spawner.
Once surrounded, the spawner goes inactive and blazes stop appearing. This is far cheaper than mining the spawner out, and it is reversible: break a torch and the spawner works again.
Keep the Area Safe
Check that no torch has been destroyed by a ghast fireball or blaze fire. If blazes were already spawning before you finished, clear them out first so they do not knock your torches away. After the spawner is disabled, the fortress becomes a much safer place to farm wither skeletons or explore.
