Fix snow layers not appearing in your world

Verify mod is active

First, confirm the mod is properly installed and loaded. Check your mod list in-game—Better Snow Coverage should appear in your active mods. If it's missing, reinstall it and ensure it's in the correct mods folder.

Check your biome

Snow layers only generate in snowy biomes. Verify you're in a cold biome like Snowy Plains, Snowy Taiga, or similar. Snow won't appear in temperate or warm biomes regardless of mod settings.

Regenerate chunks

If the mod was installed after you already explored an area, existing chunks won't have snow layers. You'll need to:

1. Travel to unexplored territory

2. Or use chunk regeneration tools (if available in your setup)

3. New chunks should display snow layers under blocks immediately

Configuration conflicts

If you've edited the configuration file, ensure the syntax is correct. Invalid settings might disable the mod's features. Reset to default settings and test, then gradually re-enable customizations.

Snow layers are client-side only, so server settings won't affect visibility on your client.
