Enable snow layers under specific block types

Configuration basics

Better Snow Coverage Mod allows you to control which blocks receive snow layers underneath them. By default, most solid blocks in snowy biomes will accumulate snow, but you can customize this behavior through the mod's configuration file.

How to configure

1. Locate your mod configuration folder (typically config/ in your game directory)

2. Find the Better Snow Coverage configuration file

3. Look for a block whitelist or blacklist section

4. Add or remove block IDs to control where snow layers appear

5. Save the file and restart your game

What gets affected

Snow layers typically appear under blocks like dirt, stone, wood, leaves, and other solid surfaces in snowy biomes. Transparent blocks and liquids generally won't receive snow layers. If you want snow to accumulate on specific custom mod blocks, add them to the configuration. The mod respects vanilla snow mechanics—snow only generates in appropriate cold biomes and at suitable heights.

After adjusting settings, new chunks will reflect your changes immediately, though existing chunks may need regeneration to see updates.
