Understand Loot Weight and Biome Rarity

Sniffers dig up different items depending on where they search. The data pack uses a weight system: items with higher weight values are more common, while items with lower weight are rarer. Additionally, some loot only appears in specific biomes.

Key principle: The fewer total items available in a biome, and the higher an item's weight, the better your odds of finding it.

Travel to Multiple Biomes

To find the full range of loot, bring sniffers to different terrain types:

• Soul sand areas
• Sculk-filled caves
• Mycelium forests
• Sand dunes and beaches
• Nether biomes (crimson and warped nylium)
• Netherrack formations

Strategy for Rare Items

If you're hunting for something specific (like ancient debris), research which biome offers the best odds, then set up a sniffer farm there. The more sniffers you have digging in the right location, the faster you'll accumulate rare drops.
