Adjust Your Render Distance for Maximum Performance

Finding the Right Balance

The mod works best when you pair it with an appropriate render distance setting. A smaller render distance means fewer chunks to load, but you'll see less of the world. Start by setting your render distance to a value your computer can handle smoothly.

Steps to Optimize

1. Open your world and check your current frame rate using F3 (or your debug screen)

2. Lower your render distance by 2-4 chunks and observe if frames improve

3. Gradually increase it until you find the sweet spot where performance stays smooth

4. Remember that the spherical loading means you're already cutting unnecessary chunks compared to the default square shape

Why This Matters

Because this mod loads only chunks you can actually see (in a sphere rather than a square), you can often run a higher render distance than before without performance loss. Test different values to find what works for your system. Even older computers should see noticeable improvement.
