Master Melee Combat Timing with Better Combat
Understanding Attack Windows
Better Combat replaces instant clicks with swing timing mechanics. Your weapon now has a charge-up and cooldown phase. Watch your weapon's animation carefully—it will glow or shift position when ready to deal full damage.
Practice Your Swings
1. Equip any melee weapon and approach a non-hostile mob or target
2. Observe the weapon animation in first or third-person view
3. Click when the weapon reaches its peak position—this is your optimal damage window
4.
5. Attacking too early or late reduces damage output
Combat Tips
- Different weapons have different swing speeds; experiment to find your rhythm
- Heavier weapons deal more damage but have longer cooldowns
- Lighter weapons attack faster but deal less per hit
- Strafe while attacking to avoid enemy damage and maintain positioning
- Use third-person camera to better judge your weapon's swing arc and timing
Practice against weak mobs first, then progress to tougher creatures as your timing improves.
