Choosing Your Farm Location

Build your mob farm on an extended platform away from your main base. Mobs need spawning space, so create a dark chamber at least several blocks above your island. The void below naturally prevents mobs from escaping.

Basic Farm Construction

Create a spawning platform using dark blocks or a roof to prevent light from reaching the spawn area. Mobs only spawn in darkness.

Build collection channels that funnel mobs toward a central point. Use water or pushing mechanisms to guide them.

Add a killing chamber at the end of your collection system. This can be as simple as a fall damage setup or a manual combat area with good visibility.

Gathering Drops

Position hoppers and chests below your killing chamber to automatically collect drops. Mobs yield experience orbs and useful crafting materials—prioritize collecting these early.

Start small. Your first farm doesn't need to be massive. A simple dark box with a collection system will generate steady resources as you progress to higher block phases and unlock better automation options.
