Why Portal Transparency Matters

The Better Nether Portal Resource Pack increases the transparency of the portal surface compared to vanilla Minecraft. This makes it easier to see what's on the other side before stepping through, which is especially useful in dark underground bases or dimly lit Nether structures.

Optimizing Your Setup

1. Position your portal in a location where you can see the destination clearly

2. Add lighting around the portal frame—torches, lanterns, or glowstone enhance visibility without blocking the view through the portal

3. The pulsating animation helps the portal stand out in low-light conditions

4. Avoid placing the portal in caves or enclosed spaces where ambient darkness obscures the view

Testing Visibility

Stand in front of your portal and look through it. You should see the Nether (or Overworld) clearly on the other side. If visibility is still poor, increase nearby light sources or consider relocating the portal to a brighter area. The mod's transparency improvement works best when there's sufficient contrast between the portal and its surroundings.
