Make Name Tags Visible in Dark Caves and Dungeons

Enable Fullbright Names

When exploring dark caves or dungeons, name tags become nearly invisible because they're affected by the surrounding light level. The Fullbright Names setting solves this.

1. Open your inventory and access Mod Menu

2. Find and click Better Name Visibility Mod

3. Locate the Fullbright Names toggle and enable it

4. Close the menu — changes apply immediately

What This Does

With Fullbright Names enabled, name tags will render at full brightness regardless of light level. This means you'll see player names, pet names, and mob names clearly even in pitch-black caves or deep underwater. The text itself won't be darkened by shadows or water.

If you want to disable this feature temporarily (for example, to reduce visual clutter in bright areas), simply toggle it off using the same menu or press your configured keybinding (default: + key).

Note

This setting only affects name tag brightness, not the surrounding environment. Your actual vision and light sources remain unchanged.
