Using Better Lights with Other Resource Packs

Load Order Matters

Better Lights Resource Pack focuses specifically on torch and lantern textures, making it compatible with most other packs. However, if another pack also modifies these light sources, conflicts may occur.

How to Layer Packs Correctly

1. Open your resource packs folder in your Minecraft directory

2. Arrange packs in the active list so Better Lights loads after general texture packs

3. If you use a comprehensive texture overhaul, place Better Lights above it in the priority order

4. Test in-game by placing torches and lanterns to confirm the correct textures appear

Recommended Combinations

Better Lights pairs well with:

  • Shader mods that enhance lighting and shadows
  • Packs focused on blocks, mobs, or UI elements
  • Ambient or atmospheric enhancement packs

Avoid stacking multiple packs that all target light sources, as the last-loaded pack will override others. If textures don't appear as expected, check your load order and disable conflicting packs one at a time to identify the issue.
