How to Use the Inventory Shortcuts

Better Inventory Management is a client-side mod that adds mouse-based shortcuts for moving and sorting items. It works inside chests, furnaces, crafting tables, and similar containers, so you can manage items without clicking each slot individually.

Drag to distribute one item per slot. Hold the right mouse button while dragging an item across slots. This drops a single item into each slot you pass over, including slots that already contain items.

Sweep to gather matching items. Hold the left mouse button while holding an item, then drag across your storage space. This collects matching items from the slots you sweep over.

Shift-drag to transfer stacks. Hold Shift and drag with the left mouse button to quickly move all matching items into another open container.

These shortcuts apply to the item you are currently holding, so pick it up first, then drag or sweep to move it. No configuration is required for the basic controls.
