Better Food & Hunger HUD: Reading Your Hidden Hunger Stats

Seeing What Vanilla Hides

Minecraft tracks more than the hunger bar shows. Saturation and exhaustion are invisible in vanilla, which makes it hard to judge whether a meal is actually worth eating. Better Food & Hunger HUD surfaces those values without changing any of the underlying mechanics.

Hover over any food item in your inventory and the tooltip reports how much hunger and saturation it restores. Your hunger bar also gains a saturation outline, so you can see at a glance how much saturation buffer remains before your hunger starts draining again.

When you hold a food item, the mod previews the health and hunger shanks you would regain before you commit to eating. That makes it easy to compare options in the field rather than guessing.

Everything stays vanilla on the backend. The mod only reads and displays values the game already calculates, so it is safe to add or remove from an existing world.
