Configuring Fog Per Biome and Dimension

Customizing Fog in Better Fog Mod

Better Fog Mod replaces Minecraft's fixed fog with a configurable system. Instead of one fog setting for the whole world, you can define fog behavior per biome and per dimension.

The mod focuses on four fog sources: void, lava, water, and thunderstorms. For each, you can adjust the fog's color, density, opacity, and the distance at which it appears. Because these are set per biome, the same fog type can look different depending on where you are — for example, water fog in one biome need not match water fog in another.

You also control where fog effects apply, so you can limit a fog type to specific biomes or dimensions rather than letting it affect everything. The mod also improves how fog renders overall, so your changes appear smoothly rather than as abrupt transitions.

To set this up, open the mod's config and edit the entries for the biome or dimension you want, then adjust the color, density, opacity, and distance values for each fog type you enable.
