Troubleshooting Flame Particle Visibility Issues
Checking Particle Settings
If animated flames appear too subtle or invisible, verify your particle settings in the Video Settings menu. Ensure particles are not set to "Minimal"—use "All" or "Decreased" for full visibility of the enhanced effects.
Adjusting Graphics and Rendering
Flame animations depend on proper rendering:
- Confirm your graphics setting is not set to the lowest option, which may reduce particle detail
- Check that particle rendering distance is adequate so flames render when you're nearby
- Ensure smooth lighting and other visual enhancements aren't conflicting with particle display
Resource Pack Load Order
If flames look incorrect or don't animate, the resource pack may be loading after another conflicting pack. Verify the Better Flame Particles Resource Pack is positioned correctly in your resource pack list—it should load after any packs it's meant to override.
Testing in Different Scenarios
If issues persist:
- Test in a new world to rule out world-specific problems
- Place a fresh campfire or torch to confirm the particles animate
- Check that you're not using a shader that might override particle textures
