How to Take Clean Screenshots While Keeping Your Held Item Visible
The main reason to install this mod is the middle F1 state, which hides the HUD but keeps your held tool, weapon, or block rendered in first person. That combination is ideal for screenshots that look cinematic without losing the context of what you are doing.
Step by step
1. Get into the position and angle you want. Set up your framing before touching F1, since the crosshair disappears in the hidden states.
2. Press F1 once. The HUD vanishes but your held item remains on screen.
3. Take your screenshot with your usual screenshot key.
4. Press F1 twice more to return to the fully visible state (or once more if you want the fully hidden state first).
Tips
- Because the crosshair is gone in both hidden states, aim before hiding the UI. If you need precision, place a temporary block or use a landmark to line up the shot.
- The intermediate state is also handy for recording clips where you want viewers to see your tool without hotbar clutter.
- If your held item is not showing, you are in the third state, not the second — press F1 once more to loop back around.
