How to Set Up the Mod for Recording or Streaming Gameplay
The three-state cycle is useful for content creators who want flexible control over what viewers see without editing footage afterward.
Choosing a state for each situation
- Talking-head or commentary segments: use the fully hidden state so the screen is clean and your facecam or overlay carries the visual weight.
- Gameplay with tool context: use the intermediate state so viewers see your held item but not the hotbar, health, or chat clutter.
- Tutorials and guides: stay in the fully visible state so viewers can read your hotbar, coordinates, and chat.
Workflow tips
- Bind F1 to a key you can reach comfortably if your keyboard layout makes the default awkward. Check your controls menu for the F1 entry and reassign it.
- Cycle deliberately rather than mashing. Each press advances one state, so plan the sequence: visible → intermediate → hidden → visible.
- If you use an overlay that reads the HUD, remember it will not capture anything in the hidden states — switch back to visible before showing stats on screen.
- Test your recording setup once in each state before a long session so you know exactly what the capture sees.
