How to Cycle Between the Three HUD Display Modes

The mod replaces the single on/off behavior of the vanilla F1 key with a three-state cycle, so you can pick exactly how much of the interface you want to keep on screen.

The three states

Pressing F1 repeatedly rotates through the modes in order:

1. No hidden UI — everything is visible, identical to normal gameplay.

2. Only hidden UI — the HUD (health, hunger, hotbar, crosshair, chat, etc.) is hidden, but your held item stays visible in first person.

3. All hidden UI — the full vanilla F1 behavior; the HUD and the held item are both hidden.

After the third state, the next press returns you to the first state, so the cycle loops indefinitely.

Using it in practice

Tap F1 once to reach the intermediate state when you want a clean screenshot but still need to see what you are holding — useful for building, mining, or combat footage. Tap it again to go fully clean for cinematic shots. Tap a third time to bring everything back. Because the states are sequential, count your presses if you lose track; the held item is the quickest visual cue for which state you are in.
