Make Sword Slashes More Visible in Bright Environments
Understand the Visibility Problem
The sharp cut effect with a center split may fade into bright backgrounds like snow, sand, or daylight skies. This makes it harder to see your attacks land during daytime combat.
Increase Contrast in the Texture
Open the slash texture file in an image editor. Boost the contrast and brightness of the cut effect so it stands out against light backgrounds. You can also add a subtle dark outline or shadow around the slash to make it pop.
Add Emissive Properties
If the resource pack uses emissive textures (files ending in _e.png), create or edit the emissive version of the slash texture. Make the cut glow slightly so it remains visible even in bright daylight.
Test in Different Lighting
Fight mobs during:
- Midday in open areas
- Near bright blocks like glowstone
- On snow or sand
Adjust the texture brightness until the slash is clearly visible in all conditions.
Alternative: Adjust Game Settings
If editing textures isn't ideal, increase your game's brightness or gamma settings to make all particle effects more prominent.
