How to Handle Rusty Bombs and Evoker Traps Safely

What these hazards are

Rusty Bomb is a mob listed by the mod, and Evoker Trap is a block. Both are dangers tied to the mod's ruin and excavation content. Treat any dig site that contains them as trapped ground, not just loot.

Spotting trouble before it triggers

Before you start brushing, walk the site and look for blocks that do not match the surrounding ruin. Evoker Trap in particular is meant to punish careless looting, so scan floors and doorways rather than sprinting through. If a corridor looks deliberately arranged, assume something is armed.

Dealing with Rusty Bombs

Rusty Bombs are hostile and explode. Do not fight them in a confined tunnel where the blast will also kill you. Lure them into open ground, keep your distance, and use ranged attacks or a shield. If you hear the fuse, back off immediately rather than trying to finish the kill.

Disarming Evoker Traps

Approach Evoker Trap blocks carefully and test them from a safe distance, for example by triggering them and retreating, or by breaking them from an angle where the effect cannot reach you. Never stand directly on a suspicious block while brushing nearby loot.

General safety kit

Bring a shield, blocks to seal corridors behind you, and a way to heal quickly. Clear hazards first, then excavate.
